I don’t even think showers are helping at this point. I have resorted to pigtails.
In a bit of an art rut, not liking a lot of my stuff, but gonna keep drawing anyway. It’ll come back to me.

As much as I love the original Phantom design, I do love half-face Phantom as well. Grew up with it, yanno? Here’s another minimal piece, closer to what I like to draw him as.
Though let’s be honest, the original Phantom even in the book was traipsed throughout Africa and China, he’s be much darker in skin tone. And while I love the idea of a living skeleton, this guy is an inventor! He’s definitely got some muscle on him.
And yes, those are the opening notes to “Think of Me”.

In the original novel, Erik is described as corpse-like and is referred to as having a “death’s-head” (human skull) throughout the story. He has no nose; eyes that are sunken so deep that all is seen are two skull-like eye sockets except when his golden eyes glow in the dark; skin that is yellow and tightly stretched across his bones; and only a few wisps of ink-black hair behind his ears and on his forehead. (His mouth is never described in as much detail, but is referred to as a ‘lipless’ ‘dead mouth’ by Christine, and Erik loosely acknowledges that his mouth/lips are abnormal later on when lifting up his mask to display ventriloquism.) He is described as extremely thin and his clothes hang on a “skeleton.” Christine graphically describes his cold, bony hands, which also smell of death. Erik woefully describes himself to Christine as a corpse who is “built up with death from head to foot.” So, unlike almost all adaptations, the original Erik’s deformity goes beyond his face and affects his entire body. Erik was born with this deformity, was exhibited as ‘le mort vivant’ in freak shows and even sometimes plays up his macabre appearance, such as sleeping in a coffin and dressing up as the Red Death for the masked ball.

Okay I may have taken some very minor artistic liberties here, but I wanted to draw Erik as close to Leroux’s description as possible. I had a lot of fun with this!! It reminded me of when I had to draw a skeleton anatomically correct for anatomy class, and I got a ton out of that. Erik’s body is very similar to a skeleton’s.
Haha, one time I nearly made a teen!AU of Phantom of the Opera but it was super similar to The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and THOND does it so much better guys.
Sighs. I love Phantom of the Opera, guys.

HosekiDragon here again. Asking for help again. Please.

For those of you who are unaware, I am currently suspended from my job without because my manager is trying to find an excuse to get rid of me. I can’t afford not to have payment coming in and while I am searching for another job I am very tight for money right now and I don’t have the time to wait for another position.

I have bills, insurance, loans, and school payments to make and I don’t have enough money in my account to make them right now. And besides that I am trying to help my dad as he’s the only one working in our house right now and we’re trying to get the house set up to move somewhere that’s easier for my mom. So I’m asking for DONATIONS please.

Please help. I’m at the end of my rope. I don’t know what to do anymore. It’s my last semester of college and I’ll have to start paying for school loans too on top of everything else. Please lend a hand in any way you can. Please. And thank you for your help in advance. And your time.

I also have a COMMISSION POST if you’re interested in some art.

Hey folks!! My friend Seki is in a pickle, with art loans and a dumb job. I definitely suggest donating to her, even something as small as a dollar will help. For those of you who like making bigger donations, check out her commission post so you can get a lil something out of it!

For some odd reason, the DONATIONS LINK above is giving me and a few other people errors. If it does the same to you, try this one. If that STILL doesn’t work, Seki has a Donate button on her blog!!!

Every penny counts, guys. Let’s try to make this a little easier for her.

My birthday is next week, and since dad was demanding I do something I decided to go down to LA and Disneyland! My broseph Clara is coming for a thing in LA, so I TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THIS JOYOUS OCCASION.
You guys should go check out her art blog! Her style is super fun!!
